How to Fix the Backup Lights on a Nissan Frontier

The reverse light in your Nissan Frontier is in the lower position inside the rear combination light assembly. Buy a 921 bulb from an auto parts retailer or Nissan dealership and change the bulb at home to be back on the road in minutes.

How to Hook Up a Tow Dolly Lights to a Car

How to Hook Up a Tow Dolly & Lights to a Car

Whether you need to tow your car to the local car repair shop or behind your RV while driving across the county, you will need to buy or rent a tow dolly. A tow dolly is the safe and legal way to tow your car. It has a single axle with a tongue, similar to the letter T. The tongue will hook to the towing package on the back of the vehicle which will tow the car. The towing package consists of a hitch and wiring harness installed on the back of your vehicle, and the wiring to control the lights on the tow dolly hooks into the wiring harness of the vehicle itself.

Instructions

    1

Loosen the coupler latch on the tongue of the tow dolly and place the coupler over the 2-inch ball of the hitch on the vehicle which will be towing the dolly. Push the towing dolly back and forth a bit to ensure the coupler is seated properly on the 2-inch ball.

    2

Push down on the latch to close the coupler latch over the 2-inch ball and place the pin through the latch to securely lock the tow dolly onto the hitch. Pull up on the towing dolly to test if it is secured. If the coupler seems loose on the ball, adjust the coupler, using a wrench.

    3

Connect the wiring plug of the tow dolly to the plug beside the hitch. If the wires do not have a plug, then connect the color coded wires of the dolly to the corresponding wires of the towing package. The yellow wire controls the left blinker, the green wire controls the right blinker, the brown wire controls the tail lights, the white wire is the ground and the red wire is for optional brakes on the dolly.

    4

Attach the safety chains to hitch. Crisscross the chains, allowing slack in the chains for moving around corners.

How to Install Navigation Lights on a Boat

How to Install Navigation Lights on a Boat

Boating is a very popular activity. For legal reasons many boats must have the correct lighting system. This enables other boats to clearly see you, helping you to avoid accidents. You can purchase navigation lights from electronics stores. Consult your boats manual to determine the correct type of lights. Installing the lights is a fairly simple process that you can complete in a few minutes. Do not travel out to sea at night until the lights are correctly fitted.

Instructions

    1

Make two 1/32-inch holes in the gunwales for two side markers and two bow lights, using a portable drill. Drill a 3/32-inch hole where you want each of your marker lights to be. This will allow you to feed the cables under the gunwale.

    2

Run conductor wire underneath the gunwale, Attach mounting clips to the gunwale at three-foot intervals. Place the wire in the mounting clips to secure it in place.

    3

Place the wire along the port side under the gunwale. Feed the wires for the red bow light to the middle of the boat and the wires for the green bow light to the starboard side.

    4

Strip both the negative and positive wires and attach them together. Solder them together using a soldering iron, and wrap them in electrical tape.

    5

Attach the circuit to the last light and attach the battery terminal located in the stern to the free wire ends. Turn on the engine to test the navigation lights before fixing the circuit in place to ensure they work correctly.

How to Adjust the Focus on Lightforce Driving Lights

How to Adjust the Focus on Lightforce Driving Lights

Adding aftermarket driving lights such as Lightforce Lights to a truck or four-wheel drive vehicle can be a great way to increase its value as well as performance. This can be done for a relatively small cost and not much work. However, whether you install these lights yourself or have to job done professionally, you will need to align or focus the lights after use. Luckily this is a straightforward and simple job even someone uncomfortable with truck repairs can master in a matter of minutes.

Instructions

    1

Park your vehicle one foot in front of a large brick wall or garage door. Youll need an additional 20 feet of room to back up once your targets are marked off.

    2

Measure up from the ground to the center of the Lightforce Light lens. Transfer this measurement to the wall and use a piece of chalk to mark the wall with a cross shape. The center point of the cross should line up with the center of the lens.Do this for both lights.

    3

Back the vehicle up 20 feet and turn on the lights. Notice how the lights land in respect to the chalk crosses. The passenger side light should land dead center on its cross. The drivers side light should fall one inch to the right and one inch below the center point so that it will not shine into any oncoming traffic.

    4

Locate the adjustment screws on your Lightforce light. The screws are located at the base of the light; one for controlling the vertical and one for the horizontal. Use a screwdriver to adjust the screws until the lights hit the desired mark.

Have your vehicle towed to your mechanic to have it checked out and repaired before attempting to drive it again, and before you reset the light. The Marker Lights Wont Work on My Neon

Several reasons are possible for the marker lights malfunctioning on your Dodge Neon. The three most common reasons for any faulty exterior light on your Neon are burnt-out bulbs, broken fuses, or loosely connected electrical connectors. As the side marker lights provide an essential contribution to the safety of your vehicle, it is important to fix them as soon as possible. Thankfully, the solution to any of those three issues is fairly simple and only requires a few minutes to perform.

Instructions

    1

Turn off the Neons engine. Put on the gloves.

    2

Remove the four screws and four push-pins from the front fenders splash shield.

    3

Reach between the fender and the splash shield, and lightly tug on the electrical connection at the rear of the side marker assembly. If it comes loose, securely plug it into the assembly and check to see if the side marker is working now.

    4

Grasp the side marker bulb, and rotate it counterclockwise. Remove the bulb and socket from the assembly.

    5

Pull the bulb out of the socket, and replace it with a new 168-type bulb. Reinstall the socket into the assembly, and reattach the four screws and push-pins to the splash shield. If the side marker light is still malfunctioning, there may be an issue with the fuse.

    6

Open the hood and locate the under-hood fuse box on the drivers side of the vehicle. Remove the cover. On the underside of the cover is a list of where each fuse is located. Find the side marker lamp fuse, and check to see if it is still functioning. A fuse is blown if the metal inside is broken. If the fuse is blown, pull it out of the fuse box, and replace it with an identical fuse. Close the hood.
