How to Retrieve My 1994 Nissan Pickup Trouble Codes
You can retrieve the trouble codes from your 94 Nissan pickup right from your home garage, saving yourself both time and money. 1994 Nissan pickups come equipped with an on-board diagnostics I computer (OBD I) that retrieves and stores all trouble codes sent to it from various sensors within the pickup. When these sensors detect a problem in the Nissan, they send the code to the computer. The computer illuminates service and warning lights on the instrument cluster. You can retrieve these codes using a handheld device called an OBD I code reader. This can be purchased online or at any auto parts retailer.

Locate the diagnostic port near the steering column on the underside of the drivers side dashboard. It will be the same size and shape as the connector on the OBD I code reader.
2Plug the code reader into this diagnostic port.
3Put the key into the ignition and turn it to the "II" position, taking care not to start the engine.
4Wait for the code reader to turn on. Select the "Read Codes" command (or a similar command) on the face of the reader. Wait for the code reader to display the codes. Write down the codes it displays.
5Look up the meaning of the alphanumeric codes in the manual. Unplug the reader and perform the servicing or repairs the vehicle needs based on the information obtained from the codes.

How to Change the Valve Body in a 1994 Ford Bronco Transmission
Changing the valve body in your 1994 Ford Bronco with automatic transmission can give you more control over the shift points of your transmission as well as fix valve body-related transmission problems. With the right tools, this is a job that can be accomplished in around three to four hours.

Place wheel chocks in front of and behind one rear wheel. These can be 4-by-4-in. blocks. Jack the front end of the Bronco up enough that you can comfortably slide under the transmission area. Place the jackstands under both sides and caully lower the vehicle onto them.
2Push the drain pan with the umbrella over it under the rear portion of the transmission where you can reach it from under the transmission pan. Bringing the tools, slide under the truck inline with the transmission pan.
3Verify the correct socket size for the transmission pan bolts. Attach the correct socket to the end of the extension and the extension to the ratchet. It will be either the 7/16 or 1/2-in. socket.
4Remove the three bolts from one corner by rotating them counterclockwise. Loosen the rest of the pan bolts halfway.
5Slide the drain pan and umbrella under the transmission pan.
6Insert the tip of the screwdriver between the pan and transmission case in the corner with the removed bolts and twist, breaking the seal of the gasket. Hold the pan umbrella and center the drain pan under the fluid flow. Wait for the flow to significantly slacken.
7Remove the remaining bolts, slowly allowing the rest of the transmission fluid to flow out of the pan. Set the pan aside.
8Remove the three screws holding the transmission filter in place and remove the filter, setting it into the pan umbrella.
9Verify the size of the bolts securing the valve body and attach the correct socket to the extension. Rotate the bolts counter-clockwise to remove them. Set the bolts aside within easy reach. Set the valve body in the umbrella also.
10Slide out from under the truck and clean the transmission pan with the parts cleaner and rags. Use the scraper to remove the gasket and through this away. Slide the pan and replacement parts and scraper under the truck and caully remove the drain pan.
11Slide under the truck and use the gasket scraper to remove the gasket from the transmission case to pan mating surface.
12Align the new valve body correctly and insert the bolts into the corresponding holes and start them by twisting them clockwise.
13Attach the socket and ratchet to each bolt and tighten them to approximately 30 pounds per square inch of torque.
14Align the new transmission with the bolts and fluid holes and insert the three retaining bolts. Twist these clockwise to start and tighten with the screwdriver.
15Align the pan gasket with the bolt holes in the transmission pan. Use four to six bolts to hold the gasket in place and place the gasket and pan against the transmission case. Start the four or six bolts sufficiently to hold the pan in place by turning them clockwise.
16Insert and start the remaining bolts. Run them all down to finger tight.
17Tighten the bolts, moving from the center of each side of the pan to the corners. Torque the bolts to between 30 and 40 foot-pounds of torque. Slide out, bringing the tools with you.
18Lift the truck off the jack stands and pull them out. Slowly lower the truck completely and pull the jack out.
19Remove the transmission dipstick and insert the funnel in the opening. Caully pour four to five quarts in. Start the engine and allow the transmission to warm up. Shift gears every 10 to 15 seconds.
20Place the transmission in park and check the fluid level. Pour enough fluid in for the reading to be full. Shift gears every minute or so again to ensure proper fluid flow.

How to Change Fuel Injectors on a 1994 Nissan Maxima
The Nissan Maxima is a mid-size car manufactured by Nissan since 1976. The third generation of this vehicle was in production from 1989 to 1994 and represented a major redesign. All versions of the 1994 Nissan Maxima have a 6-cylinder 3.0-liter engine with sequential fuel injection. The fuel injectors are on top of the engine and their replacement also requires you to remove the fuel rails.

Disconnect the negative battery cable with a socket wrench to prevent the battery from producing sparks. Remove the collector for the intake manifold. Detach the hoses on the fuel pressure regulator and fuel rails.
2Detach the electrical connectors for the fuel injector and disconnect the mounting bolts for the fuel rail with a socket wrench. Lift the fuel rail assembly from the engine.
3Remove the retainer screws for the fuel injector with a socket wrench and press the fuel injector from the fuel rail. Discard the O-rings for the fuel injector and apply a thin layer of engine oil to the new O-rings.
4Install the O-rings to the new fuel injector and press the fuel injector into the fuel rail. Fasten the retainer screws for the fuel injector with a socket wrench.
5Place the fuel rail assembly onto the engine. Torque the fuel rail mounting bolts to between 6.9 and 8.0 ft. lbs. with a socket wrench, then torque them to between 15 and 20 ft.lbs.
6Attach the fuel lines to the fuel rail assembly and connect the hoses to the fuel pressure regulator. Connect the electrical connector for the fuel injectors and install the collector for the intake manifold with a socket wrench. Connect the cable to the negative battery terminal. Start the engine and check for fuel leaks.

How to Read Trouble Codes on a 1994 Toyota 4 Runner
You can read the trouble codes on your 94 Toyota 4-Runner from your home garage using a computerized handheld device known as an OBD scan tool. This tool can be purchased from your local auto parts retailer. The 4-Runner comes standard with an on-board diagnostics computer (OBD) that receives and stores trouble codes sent to it from sensors positioned throughout the vehicle. These sensors monitor all functions of the vehicle. Once these codes have been detected, the OBD computer illuminates a service or warning light on your instrument panel. You can read the codes yourself so you can pinpoint exactly what repairs need to be done.

Find the OBD access port just left of the fuse panel cover on the drivers side dashboard. Plug the scan tool into this port, but do not force it in. If you force it, the pins could bend.
2Put the key into the ignition and turn it to the "On" position, but do not crank the engine. This will power on most OBD scan tools. Note that scan tools vary depending on the manufacturer. Check your scan tools manual for exact instructions.
3Wait for the scan tool to display "OK." Turn off the vehicle.
4Press the "Menu" key on your scan tool and scroll through the menu using the arrow keys. Look for the "Stored Codes" option. Select this option. Wait while the scan tool displays the numerical trouble codes. Some scan tools will also display the diagnosis on the display, while others require that you look up the codes in the booklet that came with the scan tool.
5Unplug the scan tool and have your vehicle repaired by a qualified mechanic.

My 1994 Buick Regal Wont Start
The Buick Regal is a four door sedan. If your 1994 Buick Regal will not start, there are several things that you can look at before you get it towed into an auto-shop. The battery on your Buick Regal is the most important part of the starting process. If your battery is dead, the Buick Regal will not start properly. Car batteries can go out, but the primary cause is leaving the lights on in the car overnight.

Get another car and jump the battery with jumper cables.
2Allow the car to sit for about 5 minutes to charge the battery.
3Take the jumper cables off of the battery after 5 minutes and then turn the car off.
4Restart the car. If the car does not restart, replace the battery.

Check the fuel level to make sure the car has enough gas. The car cannot start without gasoline.
6Ensure that there is no corrosion on the Regals spark plug.
7Remove the timing belt cover on the Regals engine. Look over the timing belt and make sure that there are no cracks in the belt. Replace the belt if needed.
8Turn Regals key to "On" and listen for the Regals fuel pump to pressurize. If you dont hear the fuel pump, you may need to replace it.

How to Replace the Water Pump on a 1994 Chevrolet K1500
A Chevrolet K1500 is a pickup truck with four-wheel drive and a nominal carrying capacity of 1/2 ton. The 1994 model belongs to the fourth generation of this series, which was in production from 1988 to 2000. The water pump in the 1994 Chevrolet K1500 attaches to the front of the engine and is accessible from the engine compartment. The replacement of the water pump in this vehicle also requires you to drain the cooling system and remove additional components from the engine.

Disconnect the cable to the negative battery terminal with a socket wrench to ensure you dont inadvertently start the engine. Put a drain pan under the radiator and open the radiator drain. Allow the coolant to drain from the radiator and replace the radiator drain plug.
2Disconnect the drive belts on the engine with a socket wrench and remove the alternator. Disconnect the cooling fan assembly, including the clutch and pulley. You might also need to remove some accessory brackets to access the water pump. Remove the radiator hose and heater hose from the water pump. Disconnect the bypass hose from the water pump if your vehicle has a 7.4-liter engine.
3Use a socket wrench to remove the mounting bolts that attach the water pump to the timing chain cover. Detach the water pump from the timing chain cover and discard the water pumps gasket.
4Clean the timing chain cover with a shop towel to remove any traces of the old gasket. Install the new water pump and gasket to the timing chain cover. Tighten the mounting bolts for the water pump to 30 ft. lbs. with a torque wrench.
5Connect the hoses to the water pump. Install the alternator and any other components you removed to access the water pump. Connect the drive belts to their respective pulleys. Fill the radiator with coolant and connect the cable for the batterys negative terminal.

How to Remove the Tailgate Inside the Panel on a 1994 Corolla Wagon
The seventh generation of the Toyota Corolla includes the 1993 through 1997 model years in the United States and features a few different models, including a four-door station wagon. This model has a tailgate that lifts up and allows direct access to the rear of the vehicle. To remove the tailgate in the 1994 Corolla station wagon you must also remove the trim panel for the tailgate.

Open the tailgate and raise it as far as possible. Remove the fasteners for the inner trim panel with a socket wrench. Remove the inner panel from the tailgate by pulling it forward and then out of the vehicle.
2Detach the electrical wiring harness from the the tailgate and push it out of your way. Mark the location of the hinges on the tailgate with a scribe to help you position the tailgate if you must reinstall it later.
3Disconnect the bolts for the damper stays with a socket wrench. Remove the damper stays from the tailgate and move them out of the way.
4Detach the electrical wiring for the rear defroster, if your vehicle is so equipped. Remove the mounting bolts for the tailgate with a socket wrench and detach the tailgate from its hinges.

How to Disconnect the Alarm on the 1994 Chrysler Concorde

2Locate the negative terminal of the battery, which has a "-" mark on it.
3Use a pair of channel locks to loosen the connection to the battery.
4Remove the terminal from the battery to disable the alarms power supply.
