2006 Mazda Speed 6 Specifications

The 2006 Mazda Speed 6 is a four-door sedan. It sold for an original MSRP of $28,000. As of November 2010 the car has a retail value of around $17,000. The car was built for two years, with 2006 being its first production year. It was an attempt by Mazda to offer a sporty sedan.

Mechanical

Exterior

    The Mazda has a traditional sedan body except for the front. The hood is angled down and the lights are slanted at an angle to give the car a sporty look. It features a rear spoiler and uses xenon headlights. The windows are tinted, and the vehicle has front fog lights. The cars antenna is located on the roof. It has dual tailpipes, and the wheels are 18 inches in diameter. Each wheel has 15 spokes.

Interior

    The car has an anti-theft protection system. It has a Bose audio system and comes with an AM/FM radio as well as a CD auto changer and six-disc remote changer. Other features include cruise control, a door ajar warning light and driver and passenger airbags. Additional airbags may be found in the roof as well as side airbags for the front occupants. The airbags have sensors designed to detect if someone is sitting in the seat. The vehicle can tell you the temperature outside. Motorcycle batteries, unlike car and marine batteries, require routine maintenance. Most motorcycle batteries are vented, meaning battery acid can breathe from a small tube if the battery gets too hot or the bike tips over. When a new battery is required, its best to look for a sealed alternative to the older vented-style battery -- they require less maintenance and typically last longer. Changing the battery should pose few problems, even for the novice motorcycle mechanic.

Instructions

Remove Seat

    1

    Locate the key slot on the side of the bike just below the seat.

    Insert the ignition key and turn it with one hand while lifting up gently on the back of the seat. The seat should lift freely once the key is turned.

    Remove the seat and set it aside, then pull the battery cover to the side to reveal the battery terminals.

    Close the battery pliers around the nut securing the negative (black) battery terminal and turn it counterclockwise until the nut spins freely. Lift the negative battery lead off the terminal and place it to the side. Repeat for the positive terminal. Note: When using metal pliers, make sure the pliers do not come into contact with any other metal parts on the motorcycle. Sparking and battery explosion could occur.

    Lift out the dead battery and discard it according to your trash haulers recommendation. Insert the new battery facing the same direction and reinstall it by following steps 4 and 3 in reverse.

How to Reset the Engine Oil Light on a 2006 Chevy

The On-Board Diagnostics computer (OBD) in a 2006 Chevy has a maintenance light that turns on when your vehicle is ready for an oil change. You need to change the oil and manually reset the light. All you need to reset and turn off the light is a few moments of your time and your ignition key. Dont attempt to reset the light before you change the oil, as the computer wont be able to keep track of when your next oil change is due.

Instructions

    1

    Put the key in the ignition and turn it to "Run", but dont start the engine.

    Push down on the accelerator three times within five seconds. Make sure you press the pedal all the way to the floor each time. Examine the instrument cluster to see if the engine oil light is flashing. Let it flash until it stops, probably in about ten seconds.

    Turn off the vehicle and remove the key. Wait a minute, and then put the key back in the ignition and start the engine. Verify that the engine oil light has turned off. If it hasnt, repeat the process. You may have to press down harder and faster on the pedal.

The positive crankcase ventilation (PCV) valve on the 2006 Chrysler Town and Country regulates the ventilation of gases within the engine. When the PCV valve fails, emissions and gases may pass back into the engine instead of being locked into the exhaust system. Buy a replacement valve from a Chrysler dealer or auto parts specialty store and change it in seconds, saving the labor costs and the lost time spent in a service centers waiting room.

Instructions

    Raise the hood of the vehicle. Locate the PCV valve on the top center of the valve cover.

    Pull the hose off the top of the PCV valve. Pull the valve straight out of the valve cover.

    Insert the new PCV valve straight into the valve cover. Push the rubber hose onto the top of the new PCV valve until it stops. Close the hood.

How to Locate a PVC Valve in a 2006 RAM 1500

The PCV valve is one the most important aspects of the emissions control system. The valve recirculates unburned gases and fresh air into the crankcase, allowing for cleaner burning of the fuel. The PCV valve is a simple plastic valve that flexes with the pressure of the engine, allowing for more or less unburned gases to pass through. The 2006 Ram 1500 followed similar designs with the placement and operation of the PCV valve. You should check the valve every 30,000 miles, and replace it, as necessary.

Instructions

    1

    Trace the air filter tubing. The PCV valve connects to this, remotely, through black tubes.

    Trace the black vacuum tubes to the PCV valve. The tubing may route through the brake booster on some models.

    3

    Pull the tube off of the PCV valve, to verify you have located it properly. The 3.7L and 4.7L PCV valves mount directly onto the oil fill spout. The 5.7L places the PCV valve directly on the intake, behind the throttle body. The PCV valve is a basic plastic component about two inches in length. Some are L-shaped.

How to Replace the Battery in a 2006 Sebring

The battery in the 2006 Chrysler Sebring is located behind the fender by the drivers-side tire. The procedure for replacing the battery in the Sebring is different than it is on many other vehicles. The Sebring has a maintenance-free battery that should not need to be serviced until it is time to replace it. A fully operational battery is vital for keeping the car in good working condition.

Instructions

    1

    Park the Sebring in a level area. Turn the steering wheel fully to the right. Turn off the engine.

    2

    Unscrew the bolts that hold the fender shield in place in front of the driver-side tire. Remove the fender shield.

    3

    Unscrew the bolt on the negative battery terminal connector. Remove the connector from the negative terminal.

    4

    Unscrew the bolt on the positive terminal and remove the connector.

    5

    Loosen the bolt that holds the battery holding arm in place. Move the holding arm out of the way to allow full access to grasp the battery.

    6

    Lift the battery out of the compartment and set it aside.

    7

    Insert the new battery into the compartment. Make sure the terminals are positioned in the same way they were on the old battery.

    8

    Reposition the battery holding arm. Tighten the bolt that holds the arm in place.

    9

    Replace the positive battery connector to the positive terminal. Tighten the battery connector bolt.

    10

    Replace the negative battery connector and tighten the connector bolt.

    11

    Reposition the fender shield. Install the bolts that hold the fender shield in place.
