How to Use a U Joint C Frame Press Service Kit
A C-frame U-joint press kit is not something that most homeowners have in their toolboxes. In the past, if someones U-joint needed replacement, the vehicle had to go into the shop for service. Today, auto parts stores are renting and lending specialized tools for the do-it-yourself mechanic. Among tools available for rent are brake caliper kits, specialized wrenches and C-frame U-joint press service kits. Having access to this kit makes replacing U-joints something that a vehicle owner may accomplish in a home garage.
Instructions
Removing U-Joints with the C- Clamp U-Joint Press Kit

Clean all grease and grime away from the yoke.
2Remove the snap ring bearing cap retainers by inserting the tips of snap ring pliers into the holes on the snap ring and squeezing the handle of the pliers together to unseat the rings from the grooves in the yoke. Pull the snap rings out.
3Slip a receiving cup --- taken from the service kit and large enough to allow removal of the bearing cap from the yoke but small enough to be in full contact with the yoke --- into the open end of the C-clamp with the open end of the cup facing the inside of the C-clamp.
4Slide an anvil onto the end of the forcing screw on the other side of the C-clamp. Ensure that the anvil is small enough to pass through the yoke of the U-joint.
5Position the U-joint press over the yoke. Tighten the forcing screw by hand until the anvil sits on the bearing cap and the cup is firmly on the yoke over the bearing cap on the opposite side.
6Tighten the forcing screw clockwise with an adjustable wrench until the bearing cap on the cup side is out of the yoke.
7Turn the clamp around 180-degrees. Tighten the forcing screw by hand until the anvil is firmly against the solid portion of the U-joint and the cup is in position to receive the other bearing cap.
8Tighten the forcing screw until the other bearing cap is free from the yoke. Repeat the steps for the other two bearing caps.
Installing U-Joints with the C-clamp U-joint press kit

Remove the receiving cup from the U-joint press. Remove the bearing caps from a replacement U-joint and set them aside. Ensure that the needle bearings inside the bearing cap remain on the sides of the bearing caps.
10Slide the solid portion of the U-joint into the yoke so that two of the opposite ends are in the two holes in the yoke. Move the solid portion to one side in the yoke and insert a bearing cap over the end. Tap the bearing cap lightly with a hammer to get it started into the hole in the yoke.
11Position the U-joint press over the yoke so that the anvil is in contact with the bearing cap. Hand-tighten the forcing screw until the other side of the C-clamp is firmly in contact with the yoke. Tighten the forcing screw, pressing the bearing cap into the hole in the yoke. Keep pressing the cap into the yoke until the groove for the snap ring is clearly visible.
12Move the solid center of the U-joint to the other side of the yoke far enough that a bearing cap can be partially inserted on the end, but not so far that it comes out of the first bearing cap. This ensures that the needle bearings inside the caps do not fall out of place.
13Turn the clamp around 180 degrees and position the anvil on the second bearing cap. Hand-tighten the forcing screw until the other side of the C-clamp is solidly against the yoke. Press the second bearing cap into the other hole in the yoke by turning the forcing screw until the groove for the snap ring retainer is visible, ensuring that the solid center of the U-joint does not come out of either bearing cap. Repeat for the other bearing caps. Reinstall the snap rings.

Ford A C Specifications
Since its invention in the 1940s, air conditioning has changed considerably. Now, air conditioning systems are computer controlled, giving the driver unprecedented control over the level of airflow and temperature. The three main components in any air conditioning system are the compressor, the evaporator and the receiver dryer. These three components work in tandem to cool incoming air and filter it into the car. Ford is not alone in using air conditioning in its automobiles, with most of its models coming with air conditioning as standard.
Manual Control
Manual control air conditioning is the standard specification given to most Ford cars. Models such as the Focus come with manual control air conditioning, with the option to upgrade for an additional cost. Manual air conditioning systems require the driver to manually turn them on. A button or a dial on the dashboard usually controls this. The driver can then select the level of blower by turning the fan level up or down. The restriction on a manual system is that the driver has no control over the temperature, having to feel when it is just right. The system is also unable to maintain a pre-programmed ambient temperature and will often require adjusting manually.
Automatic Temperature Control
Using a complicated array of both internal and external sensor, automatic temperature control calculates the current temperature and how to either raise or lower the ambient temperature to the preselected level. The automatic temperature control works with both the heater and air conditioning to maintain the appropriate temperature and prevent humidity levels within the car from causing the windows to fog over. The systems come in two varieties, semi and fully automatic. A semi-automatic system will maintain the temperature set by the driver, while a full-automatic system will do this and also operate other devices such as defrosters, heated seats and more.
Dual Electronic Automatic Temperature Control
DEATC, or Dual Electronic Automatic Temperature Control, is a system that is available in several newer Ford models, often as an optional extra. The system works as an automatic temperature control system, which allows users to select the temperature desired, and the system using advanced sensors throughout the vehicle will ensure that temperature is maintained. Unlike normal automatic temperature control systems, however, the DEATC is capable of maintaining two separate temperature regions, usually the left and right of the car. Other manufacturers use this system but call it climate control.

How to Test the A C Button on a Corolla
The Corolla sedan is a mid-size car that has been released by Toyota yearly since 1968. Since the 1990s, air conditioning (A/C) has been one of the standard features included with every Corolla model. Like all cars, things can go wrong, lines can break and become corroded and the A/C can stop working properly. If youre unsure whether the A/C in your Corolla works, you can test the A/C button.
Instructions

Turn on your Toyota Corolla and wait three to four minutes for the engine to warm up.
2Push the "A/C" button, then adjust the fan strength as desired with the dial.
3Determine whether the A/C is working by feeling the air coming out of the vents. If the air isnt cold within a minute or two, the A/C system in your Corolla needs repairing.
