Maryland Attorneys the Lemon Law

Maryland Attorneys & the Lemon Law

A "lemon" ers to a defective car, which spends more time in the shop than it does on the road. As a result, Maryland adopted a "lemon law" to help outline how car owners can deal with their lemons.

Identification

The Maryland Lemon Law categorizes a lemon as a vehicle that was purchased or leased within two years with less than 18,000 miles. The vehicle either has had problems to the point of being out of commission for at least 30 days or has significant problems with the steering or braking systems.

Action

If you think you have a lemon, first write to the manufacturer and give them the chance to fix the defect. If they cannot fix it, they must buy back the car, replace it or seek arbitration. If you and the manufacturer cannot come to an agreement, the last resort option is to bring in a Maryland attorney and file a lawsuit.

Attorneys

Maryland lemon law attorneys, such as Kimmel & Silverman, have experience with lemon law cases and are familiar with the process. You can also find a lemon law attorney through the Maryland Bar Association.
