How to Vent Diesel Exhaust Through a Wall

When working on a car in your garage, you must properly ventilate to protect yourself from any exhaust that comes from the vehicle. This safety precaution is especially important when you are working on diesel cars, as their exhaust contains more harmful fumes than standard gasoline exhaust. You can install a ventilation system through a wall in your garage. Making sure that all of the exhaust coming from your cars tailpipe is routed through this ventilation system will significantly protect you from the harmful effects of inhaling diesel exhaust.

Instructions

    1

Drill a hole in your garage wall with the four-inch hole saw. Make sure you place the hole so that it doesnt empty into an area often used by people. You dont want diesel exhaust being vented to an area where your children are playing.

    2

Run the exhaust hose through the hole you drilled. When buying exhaust hose, make sure to buy a length that will provide the mobility you desire when working in your garage.

    3

Attach the tailpipe adapter to the end of the exhaust hose inside your garage.

    4

Attach the tailpipe adapter to the end of your diesel cars tailpipe before running it in your garage. The smoke will be vented through the exhaust hose to the outside of your garage.
